These are two different theories of ageing sold from the same shelf, and the choice is really between them.
NAD+ is not a peptide. It is a coenzyme present in every living cell, acting as a cofactor for sirtuin and PARP enzymes and as a carrier in redox reactions — the research interest lies in cellular energy metabolism and in what a declining supply of that cofactor does to it. The intervention logic is replenishment of something the cell already runs on.
Epithalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide, Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, derived from a pineal-gland extract, and the work around it concerns telomerase activity and pineal circadian markers. The logic there is signalling rather than substrate: what is under study is whether a short peptide can alter how a cell regulates its own replicative clock. That literature is narrower than NAD+'s and much of it comes from a single research tradition, which is worth holding in mind when reading it.
So the decision is whether the question is metabolic — what the cell has available to run on — or regulatory, about the signals that set its ageing programme.
Handling differs and the difference matters. Both are stored at 2–8 °C; epithalon is kept from light, and a reconstituted NAD+ vial has a markedly shorter working window than a peptide's. Purity, sizes, price per milligram and current availability in the table above come from the live catalogue.
